San Antonio's Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) can
save your operation money through duty deferral, elimination and
reduction. By law, a foreign trade zone is a designated area considered
to be outside of U.S. Customs territory. As a result, importers,
distributors, manufacturers and others can take advantage of the FTZ
program by admitting foreign merchandise into one of our 10 FTZ sites
and defer, eliminate or reduce duties owed which will not be paid until
the foreign merchandise is imported into the U.S. marketplace for
consumption. This is just one example of how the FTZ program can
benefit your operation. Additional benefits, such as weekly entry and
zone to zone transfers, may save you additional money.
Free Trade Alliance San Antonio provides FTZ marketing and
administrative services to the City of San Antonio's Economic
Development Department, Grantee of FTZ No. 80.
